In Ethiopia, where volunteers have been helping the teams of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) under a partnership contract, a new mission took place in the refugee camps of Dolo Ado in the south of the country where almost 150,000 people, mainly from neighboring Somalia, live.
Installation of a hybrid system for electrification
The Veoliaforce volunteers on the ground worked in partnership with UNHCR on a project that aims to set up a hybrid solar and diesel system to provide electricity to the system producing and distributing fresh water to five refugee camps. The aim of the mission was to gather the data needed to understand how the water system worked and model the new system that was to be put in place. The Foundation provided project management assistance throughout the life of the project.
