Last December, a multi-ethnic conflict in the Democratic Republic of the Congo sparked massive population movements: 80,000 to 100,000 persons fled across the border to Congo Brazzaville and the Central African Republic.

The French Red Cross called on Veoliaforce to staff a team charged with devising emergency solutions to supply drinking water to several groups of refugees installed in the Central African Republic, in an area located south of Bangui, along the Ubangui River, which is the natural border in the south of the country.

The installation of mobile Aquaforce units and the organization of a tank truck water distribution circuit provided access to water for 20,000 refugees.
