Combating cholera

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), cholera is the cause of several tens of thousands of deaths every year. In 2007, the Veolia Foundation opted to combat this infectious and contagious diarrheal disease. Especially in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Veolia Foundation is engaged, since 2007, in an international alliance, the GAAC.

In March 2015, Thierry Vandevelde, Executive Officer of the Foundation, has become coordinator of a working group on the environmental aspects of the combat against cholera within the Global Task Force on Cholera Control (GTFCC) set up by the World Health Organization (WHO).
