Mékong Enfants des Rizières (MEDR)

Since 2014, Mékong Enfants des Rizières (MEDR) has been dedicated to international solidarity in Southeast Asia. It targets Laos in particular, where it develops programs to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants.

In the village of Dongkouay, 40 km from Ventiane, the capital of Laos, the association is supporting a vast action plan to combat poverty, improve health through access to drinking water, preserve local biodiversity, strengthen access to education and training, promote women's empowerment and, finally, ensure sustainable waste management.

In the first year of the program, the focus will be on the portable water supply system, with the construction of a water tower. Support will be provided for the distribution and structuring of water access services. Latrines will also be built.

The years 2025-2026 will be devoted to the issue of waste management, through the use of insect production to transform organic waste into protein for fish feed. Mékong Enfants des Rizières is open to all innovations likely to increase the impact of its aid to the people of Laos.
