The place to find all you need to know about the environmental trades

Respect for our environment is a vital cause that has now won over the hearts of many. And with an incentive for all those in need of employment: there is certainly a lot to do in the trade. But what?
Since the professions in this field are not well known, the Saint-Denis-based association Objectif emploi decided to create an information and communication centre designed for job seekers: the CIIE (Centre d'initiatives et d'innovations environnementales Centre for environmental initiative and innovation). In a former vegetable farm, the public can consult job sheets, company databases, specific job offers, training courses, job fairs, etc. Applicants are welcomed by a coordinator and a project leader. The centre is also open to numerous neighbourhood associations.
The old farm was refurbished by a local integration company with respect for environmental construction standards (HQE-High Environmental Quality), and its interior design was completed with help from several donors: Ile-de-France region, city of Saint-Denis, the Plaine Commune metropolitan community, Conseil Général de Seine-Saint-Denis, etc. The Veolia foundation grant helped Objectif emploi to obtain the furniture and computer equipment it needed to equip its offices.
