More reception and education for the Ligue de l'enseignement de Moselle

Ligue de l'enseignement is a complementary nonprofit to the school that federates 30,000 local nonprofits today in 102 departmental federations. Through a wide range of projects, the Ligue develops civicmindedness by promoting universal education, culture, recreation and sports. Through universal education, it galvanizes a self-contained associative fabric and encourages the imagination, creativity, solidarity and democracy by shared responsibility. Since the 1990s and the establishment of the CED (Citoyenneté Environnement Développement - Citizenship Environment Development) distinction, to recognize the work of its affiliated nonprofits on EnvironmentAL Education and Sustainable Development (EEDD), 40 permanent centers have been qualified and six non-residential recreation centers are undergoing trials for qualification. EEDD is one of its priorities today.

A natural setting ideal for learning about biodiversity

The Moselle Federation of the Ligue plans to build a chalet for accommodation and training to complete the conditions for receiving children in discovery classes and adults in nature-rambling discovery groups in its Jonquilles center.

Located at Xonrupt-Longemer, it was created in the late 1950s and received about 5,000 children during the 2011/2012 season. It enjoys an exceptional natural setting, that of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park, to conduct its operations in education in the environment and protection of the Vosges and French biodiversity. The project is therefore focused on education and biodiversity in a space offering the discovery and understanding of the natural environment, its vulnerability and its diversity.

A space in harmony with nature

The project involves installing a space, the construction of which has been entrusted to the architect Christian Vincent, who already built a multifunction room for the center in 2010. The children will be received there in refurbished premises, accessible to persons with reduced mobility and in complete harmony with the surrounding nature.

This ambitious project is led with the support of the General Council of the Vosges, the collective tourist promotion committee of the Vosges Mountains, the Family Welfare Agency of the Moselle, and the Regional Council of Lorraine.
