The Mooc on ODDs, which won the MOOC of the Year award, is going international

Over 13,000 learners have already followed the French language version of the MOOC on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This online course supported by the Veolia Foundation is now going international with five new language versions being launched.

Relevons le défi des ODD ! - Mooc sur les ODD

Now available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic and French, the content of the Sustainable Development Goals - Let's rise to the challenge together! MOOC is going to enable thousands of people to learn about environmental issues. The 17 SDGS set by the UN in 2015 seek to address the challenges of globalisation and are based on the three components of sustainable development - environment, social issues and economics.

This Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) delivered by Uved (Environment and Sustainable Development Virtual University) comprises some 30 videos that enable learners to find out about how the SDGs are implemented (successful strategies, efficient technologies, helping to publicize innovative approaches etc). National and international experts from the developing and developed worlds and from both higher education and research institutions and the non-academic world contributed to the MOOC. Maria Snoussi, a lecturer at Mohammed V University in Rabat in Morocco, and Jean-Paul Moatti, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the French Research Institute for Development (IRD), and experts from the group of independent scientists tasked with drafting the 2019 report on global progress towards achieving the 17 SDGs, took academic responsibility for the content. This constituted a rare opportunity to share accessible knowledge with as many people as possible in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic and French.
